Under 9 Football
The Under 9 team is for players who, from 1st September, will be in Year 4 at school. The team is managed by Paul Baker with assistance from coaches Lee Priestley, Steve Pascoe and Chris Woods. Under 9's Message Board
Training
Training for the 2010/11 season commences on Saturday 4th September. If you are interested in joining the Under 9's (or any other relevant age group) please visit the who's who page and click on the general enquiries link or alternatively feel free to chat to one of the coaches directly.
Subs and Match Fees
Subs are due at the beginning of each school term. If you need to talk to the club about subs, please feel free to talk to one of your coaches in strict confidence or any other member of the clubs committee.
Also a reminder that on a match day we charge £1 subs to help cover the cost of running matches. This is to be paid to either your coach or one of the parents who offer to help out on match days. It is your responsibility to come forward to pay these fees and your assistance with this is greatly appreciated.
Dates for the Diary
Downley Cricket Club (DCC) play in the Cup Final on Sunday 5th September from about 2pm at Aylesbury Cricket Club
Downley Albion Football Club (DAFC) are holding a golf day at Princes Risborough Golf Club on Friday 17th September, if you are interested in playing contact Paul using the email address above.
Also on Friday 17th September DAFC are holding a Race Night in the Le De Spencer. It will start around 7.30pm with 8 races and the evening will finish with the auction race (race 9). Horses can be purchased for £5 and name it yourself. Winning owners will receive a bottle of wine. There is also a Tri cast on offer for £1 per square, these are on sale now at the Le De Spencer. Horses in the auction race usually go for £100 so get a syndicate sorted as the winning horse could receive up to £500.
2010/11 Tournament News
I have entered us in this years Cup / Plate competition - so keep an eye out on the website for more information.
We will also be looking to enter 6-a-side tournaments at the end of the forth coming season. Keep an eye on the website for details.
Training
Training is every Saturday morning (during term time) on The Common (in front of the Pavilion). Sessions will start at 9:15 and end by 11:00.
Training during the school holidays
Training will take place 1st Saturday of either the half term or end of term holidays and will resume on the 1st Saturday after school has reopened.
Important Note to Parents
Feel free to pop to the Pavilion where you will find beverages, bacon rolls and other refreshements on sale. You can also find a selection of the club merchandise available to look at and purchase (see the "Club Shop" page for further information).
We also ask that your children are dressed appropriately for the weather conditions. It can be windy and cold on the pitch in winter so hat, gloves and tracksuits are a must.
If any parents / guardians are interested in helping out during training sessions or match days, please come and see one of the coaches (we will not hold you to helping every week but any assistance will be greatly received).
Wet Weather Policy
If the weather is poor an inspection will be made of the Common and Mannings Field and the coaches will be notified by 08:15am if training is cancelled. Once the decision has been made to cancel training the website will be updated on the News Page and if the coaches have your contact details a text message or email will also be sent out. If you haven't heard anything and are concerned whether or not training is on, please contact your coach.
