The Under 12s team is for players who, from 1st September 2016, will be in Year 7 at (big!) school.
The Minors team is managed by Colin Dourish (FA Level 1), assisted by Matt Leek (FA Level 2) and Dan Fryer (FA Level 1) and the Colts team is managed by Gavin Thurston (FA Level 1) assisted by Carol Kendall (FA Level 1).
Admin for the Minors team is managed by Kirsten Dourish and for the Colts team by Carol Kendall.
Parent Support & Help
If you are able to assist the team in any way, be it collecting money & registration forms, setting up or clearing away at training or match days or being a linesman on matchday please let them know ~ all offers of help are always very gratefully received. The less admin/set up/linesman duties the coaches need to do the more time they can spend coaching and managing - this is especially needed on match days and will help your childs team run successfully.
We now have access to and use of a great facility at the Pedestal so please offer to help with making tea or coffee or taking orders for bacon rolls.

Downley Dynamos coach girls and boys of ALL footballing abilities. So if you've never played but you want to come and have a go you'll be made very welcome. Training in the early years is non-competitive and all football at the club up until 11 a side is of mixed gender. You will benefit from qualified instruction using the latest soccer methodologies. Regulated by The FA (The Football Association), all Downley Dynamos players learn individual skills and personal development as well as collective team development.
Football is about having fun and enjoying regular exercise. Helping players develop will also help to build self-confidence. We, as coaches, believe that everyone can benefit from playing the game and making new friends. So come along on Saturday mornings and join in the fun.
Training is held every Saturday morning during term time, starting at 9:15am sharp at The Pedestal Playing Fields in West Wycombe on grass pitches. Sessions finish at 11:00am. Please try to have the players with us on time as the warm-up is an important part of the session. Please also try to ensure they have a good night's sleep the night before and a decent meal at least 1 hour prior to training.
The training ethos is simple. We try to ensure that every player has as many touches of the ball as possible during the session. We try to play 2 or 3 'matches' during training and our aim is to make these small sided games so the players have more touches, attempt more tackles (although that is not important at this age) and hopefully score more goals. The rest of the session is made up of 2 or 3 drills in which the players will usually have a ball each. They are encouraged to try and use both feet for passing, running with the ball etc. whilst, most importantly, having FUN
What to wear/bring
Players should wear suitable shirts, shorts, socks (usually Replica Kit) and football boots on training days with warm clothing depending on weather conditions. Players are expected to wear clean studded boots (moulded or screw-ins depending on the hardness of the ground) and the club recommends 'NO BLADES' due to the potential dangers associated with them so please bear this in mind. SHIN PADS are compulsory. Please also bring a soft drink (NOT FIZZY) and a small snack for your child as there will be regular breaks for refreshments.
Note you can buy a range of club branded football equipment from the club shop on the website! All this helps to support running the club and some items make great gifts for birthdays or Christmas - both for players and supporters.
Important Note to Parents
Parents may drop their children at training, but must have left emergency contact details with the coaches, and be back at The Pedestal by 11:00am to pick up.
Training during the school holidays
Training always runs on the first Saturday after the children break-up from school. Training will always resume the first Saturday following the school re-opening.
Subs & Player Registration
Subs for the season for each player is £85 and can be paid in two installments, £45 at the start of the season and £40 in January. Providing two cheques (the second post dated to January 2017), at the start of the season is a good way to reduce club admin and ensure that payment is made when the time comes. Of course if you want to pay for the entire season from the start this involves even less admin! If you could please bring your Subs along to the first training session so that we can collect them in and submit them to the treasurer as soon as possible.
On a match day we charge £2 subs to help cover the cost of running matches and paying a qualified referee. This is to be paid to either your coach or one of the parents who offer to help out on match days. It is your responsibility to come forward to pay these fees and your assistance with this is greatly appreciated.
If you need to talk to the club about Subs, or anything else for that matter, please feel free to discuss with any of the coaches or club welfare officers in strict confidence.
