The Under 16s team is for players who, from 1st September 2016, will be in Year 11 at school.
The squad is managed by Dave Parfett and Camilla Gibson looks after Team Admin and if you are able to assist the team in any way, be it collecting money & registration forms, setting up or clearing away, please let them know ~ all offers of help are always very gratefully received!
2016 training for the U16s will start on Saturday 3rd September from 9:00am - 11:00am at Mannings Field in Downley (see map and directions on the 'How to find us' page)
Please note: When parking in the new car park extension on Mannings Field, cars will need to be parked at a 45° angle to allow the maximum number of cars to be parked. There is a turning area at the far end. Please do not park on the road. Thanks for your cooperation.
Training is held every Saturday morning during term time, starting at 9:00am sharp at Mannings Field, Downley on grass pitches. Sessions finish at 11:00am. Please try to have the players with us on time as the warm-up is an important part of the session and please ensure your child has had plenty of sleep and a healthy breakfast at least 1 hour before the start.
What to wear/bring
Players should wear suitable shirts, shorts, socks (usually Replica Kit) and football boots on training days with warm clothing depending on weather conditions. Players are expected to wear clean studded boots (moulded or screw-ins depending on the hardness of the ground) and the club recommends 'NO BLADES' due to the potential dangers associated with them so please bear this in mind. SHIN PADS are compulsory. Please also bring a soft drink (NOT FIZZY) and a small snack for your child as there will be regular breaks for refreshments.
Important Note to Players
Being part of a team means supporting your team mates and those involved in your club. Make sure you read the club code of conduct and understand it. You should also make sure your parents read it too!
Important Note to Parents
For new starters, we recommend that parents or guardians remain on the field during the session until your child has become familiar with the routine. Even then, having parents/guardians on site supporting the players during training encourages them to develop their skills and practice at home. The encouragement you have given to date is the envy of many other clubs.
If you are unable to stay
Please make sure you have left a contact number with the coaches so you can be contacted if necessary. We would also be grateful if you could ensure that you return at least 10 minutes before the end of training to ensure the players are collected promptly.
Finally, your assistance in even the smallest way in respect of setting up and clearing away the equipment before and after each training session is enormously appreciated!
Subs & Player Registration
Subs for the season are due in two installments, £45 at the start of the season and £40 in January. Therefore could you please bring your Subs along to the first training session so that we can collect them in and submit them to the treasurer as soon as possible. On a match day we charge £2 subs to help cover the cost of running matches. This is to be paid to either your coach or one of the parents who offer to help out on match days. It is your responsibility to come forward to pay these fees and your assistance with this is greatly appreciated.
If you need to talk to the club about Subs, or anything else for that matter, please feel free to discuss with any of the coaches or club welfare officers in strict confidence.

Training during the school holidays
Training will take place on the 1st Saturday of either the half term or end of term holidays and will resume on the 1st Saturday after school has reopened.
